• Call for SAB member candidate
The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) contributes to the research and policy support activities of EFI. Its work includes anticipating future research needs, stimulating research and study initiatives, and monitoring EFI's activities. The SAB works as an independent body and it reports to the Board of EFI. The SAB member will be appointed for a three-year period with the possibility of a three-year extension. The membership period starts according to the Board’s decision. The SAB members work on voluntary basis. The SAB member should be internationally known expert with considerable scientific achievements and experience. To maintain the capacity of the SAB to meet the current and future needs of EFI, candidates with expertise in relation to Nature Based Solutions for cities or global forest governance are particularly encouraged to apply. • Who’s joining me for Aberdeen?
During Annual Conference you can make an impact, discuss and approve matters such as budgets and work plans, and make decisions on the future plans and activities of EFI. Thursday there is a very interesting seminar: Plantation forests to native forests: delivering multiple ecosystem benefits in a changing climate, we also have excursions and even whisky tasting. So don’t wait up, but secure your seat today. You can check out the programme and register here: https://www.efi.int/membership/ac I am hoping to see many of you there.

• Also, don’t forget that if you have open posts at your organisation, just let me know and the word will be spread through all EFI channels (website, electronic newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)! Social media is a really handy tool to keep up also with what’s happening with EFI, so if you haven’t liked/followed us yet on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, I encourage you to do so.
